ALWAYS SOMETHING FUN TO DO, TO SEE OR ENJOY!
The Waynesville area, established in 1809, is the heart of Haywood. Turn of the century buildings and brick streets are the setting for great shopping in Waynesville's many boutiques, galleries and specialty shops. Many festivals are held throughout the year including the International Folkmoot Festival, Church Street Festival and the Apple Festival. In addition, streets are blocked off twice a month in July & August for free dances featuring local bluegrass bands. Wine and dine and enjoy this mountain historical town.
Maggie Valley is known as the gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, as well as having the most photographed view in the Smokies. Haywood County mountains are some of the oldest in the world. Hundreds of miles of hiking trails also open to horse riders and mountain bikers are featured. Waterfalls are abundant. The mountain scenery makes a wonderful backdrop for a round of golf on one of our many excellent golf courses or a lovely day whitewater rafting.
Many of you may just be looking for a "GET-A-WAY" . . . a place to escape and relax on the decks with the mountain views and soothing rushing creek. Barbeque in the yard while the kids or pets play. This is a vacation getaway where you will have a historical chink long cabin to retreat to - to do whatever you desire.
